We have begun a patient search for the first member of the third generation of our investing team.

Foundation Resource Management is an employee-owned registered investment advisor based in Little Rock, Arkansas with a 33-year, GIPS-compliant track record of deep value equity portfolio management.  We currently manage approximately $950mm across separately-managed portfolios of long-only positions in individual stocks and bonds for a diverse client base of families, charitable foundations, corporations and retirement plans.  We are a ten-person firm in the process of an ownership transition from first generation to second generation.  We are like a second family to our employees and value loyalty, work ethic and balance.  We are looking to hire the first member of the third generation of our investing team for the initial role of Investment Analyst, supporting our entire team in the management of client portfolios.  This is a paid, full-time, in-person and partnership-track position based in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Is willing to work full-time and physically at our office in Little Rock, Arkansas

  • Pays meticulous attention to detail

  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills and can explain their viewpoints with confidence

  • Has a proven ability to meet time-critical deadlines with accuracy

  • Brings intellectual curiosity, an entrepreneurial spirit and an eagerness to find new opportunities to contribute

  • Collaborates well with peers as a member of a small team with colleagues of all levels and tenures

  • Exhibits strong integrity through commitment to excellence, personal accountability and professionalism

  • Brings a willingness to contribute wherever needed, across the scope of firm responsibilities

  • Holds a B.S. or B.A. degree with an excellent academic record

  • May hold an MBA or other advanced degree

  • Has 2-5 years of experience working within a financial role

  • Has an understanding of the capital markets and may have some experience in the asset management industry in a research, client service, communications and/or marketing role

  • Has a deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Bloomberg

  • Is a CFA Charterholder currently or is willing to become a CFA Charterholder

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers (PMs) and produce compelling quantitative and qualitative fundamental research on potential investments

  • Contribute to the improvement and documentation of research processes and philosophies

  • Research and form opinions on factors shaping portfolio management

  • Contribute to the creation and improvement of client communications, including working with operational colleagues to produce and improve our client reporting to best illustrate our management of their portfolios

  • Work with PMs to create compelling quarterly commentaries and client presentations that successfully articulate factors shaping our decisions in their portfolios

  • Work with PMs to manage client relationships and portfolio exposures

  • Assist PMs in business development tasks such as RFP submissions

  • Develop a deep understanding of our internal accounting and portfolio systems

  • Lead new projects as they present themselves
